World of Lies

#poetry #lies

There is a place
where you can trace
once across the bridge of sighs–
where things that are
are never that far
from the world of lies.

The world of lies
where humanity dies
from want of truth and succor–
is a shady place
and an example case
of where the out meets tucker.

Truth from fiction
is not an addiction
in the inky bowels therein.
a respite
from the despot
A midnight court swear in.

Save your bright speech,
You won’t have reach–
only lies can carry here.
Make them fun,
Truth is undone,
Bring the judgment near.

A miscreant court,
A reprobate report,
The circus has finally arrived.
The sentence is wrong,
Sing a backwards song,
Everything here is contrived.

Into the oven and burn,
World of lies, stomach churn!
Court of midnight jester death–
Say the word “Shibboleth”?
The hour is now especially late,
all that framed confabulate
bears the fruit and the seed;
take now the rotten deed.
To the mansion of lies, go;
several stations down below–
where lies find their root lives,
Here where not water gives
a merciful truth.
